Chetan Bhagat went to Hyderabad for a conference. After the conference, he was returning to Delhi by Indigo 6E766 HYD-DEL. At midnight to Delhi when Chetan was feeling sleepy he heard someone from a side said to him "sir, you are sitting on your seat belt." After sometime when the turbulence was normal he ordered a cup of coffee for himself and the person sitting beside him ordered a cup of tea.

Taking a sip of tea that person told him that he is the pass out of the same college from where Chetan had completed his degree. When Chetan looked at him he saw a boy of around,25, having deep brown eyes seems like they have seen the world more than their age.

The boy told him that he has a story for him he wants to share then Chetan replied he did not want to write any love story. Then the boy said, "This is not a lover's story but a story of an Ex-lover, a crime mystery and an unlove story."

Then the story went into a flashback...

The story has three main characters Keshav, Zara, and Saurav.

Keshav and Zara both were the Graduates of IIT Delhi and currently, Zara was doing P.hd from IIT Delhi.

Keshav loves Zara even after the 4 years of the breakup he couldn't forget her and he still believes that Zara will contact him. Currently, Zara was in a relationship with another boy Raghu. He belongs to an orthodox Hindu family from Tamilnadu and he was not a much good looking boy.

Keshav is from a Hindu brahmin family his father is a senior member of RSS and Zara belongs to a Muslim Kashmiri family.

Saurav is a friend a Keshav they are very much close and Saurav always gives Keshav moral support and their friendship is very strong.

PRESENT DAY SITUATION: The girl in room 105

Today was a very special day. It was Zara's Birthday. Zara's present boyfriend was in the hospital because a few days ago we miscreants had beaten them. Every year Keshav used to wish her but this year he was sitting with his friend Saurav and they were drinking. Then suddenly a message arrived at Keshav's WhatsApp at around 3AM. 

"Keshav, This year you didn't wish me on my birthday. Do you still love me? will you come to my room."

Reading this message Keshav was shocked because this was the first time in the last 4 years that Zara had messaged him. He replied and in that drunken situation he was convinced to meet her. He and Saurav went to Zara's girls' hostel. The watchman didn't allow them to enter the campus but fortunately, Keshav had his old ID card and he got entry but Saurav stayed outside. Remembering his old days Keshav climbed a mango tree and slipped into Zara's room 105 and when he entered her room the room was dark and completely silent. He saw Zara was lying on the bed and when he went to her he saw Zara was dead. Keshav was shocked, Saurav asked him to left the place but he was not willing to left. He called the police and the police investigated in the matter after few days of investigation policed arrested the watchman because according to the CCTV the watchman was missing at the same time when the crime had happened, but Keshav was not convinced with the investigation and he thought to investigate the crime and to find the criminal and to give justice to Zara.  

From here the story took a turn towards a crime mystery.

SOLVING A CRIME MYSTERY: The girl in room 105

For the investigation, Keshav took the help of a policeman inspector Rana. The very first person they had suspicion over was Zara's professor. Professor Saxena had tried to harass Zara many times, but when they investigated deeply they got to know that Professor Saxena had lymph problem and on the night of crime the room of Zara was locked from inside and it was not possible for Mr Saxena to climb a tree. 

Now Keshav started searching Sikandar, Sikandar was Zara's brother and he was connected to a terrorist group, TEJ. With the permission of Zara's father, Keshav searched in the room of Zara, and in a cupboard, he found gunpowder, a pregnancy kit, and a photograph in which Sikandar was taking a selfie with holding a gun in his and behind him, Zara was standing and giving smile. 

Keshav started connecting the things one by one and he met with Sikandar and when he asked him about the group TEJ he went afraid and he showed them his gun and threatened them and ran away from the place.

Again with the help of Zara's mother, Keshav found Sikandar and met him and again Sikandar told them that he didn't kill his sister but Keshav was not willing to trust him and he believed that Sikandar had killed Zara because he did not want, that through Zara the information about his terror group reached to the army.

Sikandar was continual refusing the allegations. The next morning all were shocked when they got to knew that Sikandar had committed suicide. 

Sikandar had written in his suicide note that his life could be dangerous for his organization and everybody is believing that he murdered his sister and he can't live with these allegations. 

After reading this Keshav felt the guild and now it was again on the situation from where he started, Until now he had not reached the murderer of Zara and now he has become the reason for Sikandar's death only based on a suspicion.

Now Keshav again started his investigation and he found that in Zara's room they had also found a pregnancy kit and when he started searching for clues he found a pic on Zara's Instagram with an army official, that army officer had also presented an expensive necklace to Zara. with the help of inspector Rana, they raided that army officer Mr Faiz's house and in his room, they found the same pregnancy kit and when they looked at his searched history on the internet they found that he had searched about "how to abort pregnancy" and divorce. They also found some gold biscuits in his room. Now the suspicion of Keshav was again becoming strong they assumed that Faiz had earlier made her pregnant and then to overcome the guilt he killed Zara. 

Now Keshav planned a dinner and called everyone who was related to Zara and decided to announce the murderer in front of everyone. It was the 100th day after the death of Zara. No one knew who had killed Zara but Keshav knew it and to keep it secret he had planned that dinner.

THE TWIST: The girl in room 105

Before the day of the announcement, Keshav went to Hyderabad for a small trip and this is the same flight during which he met Chetan Bhagat. Now the flight had reached Delhi and Chetan Bhagat loved this story very much and he wanted to know the end of the story. They exchanged their numbers. Chetan told him that he will write his next novel over this story and asked him to tell him about the decision of the dinner party.

Now a week ago when Keshav visited the Hyderabad trip this trip had changed a complete story when he was sitting in his room at Delhi he realized that he until then was creating suspicion over the wrong person. He started connecting every point and then he found that how until then he was putting allegation on innocents and he was thinking a criminal as an innocent. 

finally, the day has come when Keshav was about to announce the name of the criminal in front of everybody. Every known to the Zara in the party was sharing their memories with Zara and crying and Raghu said that he was feeling very sad because he and Zara were engaged and before the marriage he had lost his partner.

Now everyone was suspicious about Mr Faiz and Raghu asked him why he did that, then Keshav announced that he knew who is the killer and told Mr Faiz to take care that the killer could not run away from the place. Now Keshav again announced and gave a warning to the killer that he should surrender himself and he has all the proofs and then he called a number "6E 766, 8th FEBRUARY 2018" and he said he also has a CCTV footage. Now Raghu got up from his chair and excused to go for the washroom, Mr Faiz identified the gesture by Keshav and he grabbed Raghu. 

But everyone was shocked how that could be possible because that day Raghu was in hospital in Hyderabad. 

Now Raghu opened the whole mystery in his own words and started telling about his crime.

CASE SOLVED: The girl in room 105

Raghu said "After listening all the story you will call me a bad guy but no one will understand why I did so, yes I am a Tamil, brahmin, an ugly and idiot boy but yes this is true that I killed Zara. I remembered that day when I went to her room she was sleeping and in her bed, I sneaked into her room from the window and I put my hand on her soft neck she waked up and she was trembling with fear, I kept her neck tightly in my arms and it wi have read somewhere that if we stopped oxygen supply to someone's body that person died in 7 minutes so I had time so I started talking to her that you always used to call me ugly, duffer, an idiot and all now you see, I am not an idiot I am intelligent, Now I saw she stopped moving and now according to my plan I sent a message to Keshav from Zara's phone, 

'Hii Reshav you didn't..........

Now when I got a confirmation message from Keshav, I left the room before 3:30 am. 

Now Saurav asked Keshav that how he found the truth then Keshav told him "you know Saurav 4 days ago my Hyderabad trip when I was thinking something and I was not able to sleep that day when I was talking to Raghu about Zara's murder and asked him the that, why Zara cheated him? she knew Faiz for a long time then Raghu said that do not think any more Keshav, and everyone couldn't give expensive jewellery, now I couldn't understand that Raghu was giving me sympathy or he was giving me a taunt. Now I started thinking and when I opened her last message, I thought that in those four years she didn't contact him and now he got a message from her on her birthday, and I was thinking that if Zara only wanted expensive gifts then why she thought to come back to me because Raghu is a rich guy and he can provide her with everything, then I found something suspicious."

"Then I checked the timing of my flight which was at 4:15 so I packed my bag and I left for Hyderabad just to confirm that whatever I was thinking was actually true or not.

I reached there at around 7:15 and now due to no traffic I reached the hospital in around 30 mins. I changed my clothes and then I called inspector Rana to come and discharge Raghu from the hospital and told him to took Raghu in the dinner party at Delhi, but then the staff told me that they could not discharge a patient before 8:00 am as they could discharge only when the doctors would arrive, and at 8:00am doctors and other staff started arriving in the hospital. At the corrected time I contacted the nurse of Raghu and in our informal talk, she told me that Raghu asked her on the birthday of Zara to send her wishes and he gave his phone to me at 09:00 pm and him then he went to sleep. later at 12:00 am I wished Zara from Raghu's phone.

Now I started thinking and all the case was solved in front of me. 

on the day of the crime, Raghu gave his phone to the nurse at 09:00 am and then he went out of the hospital late at night, at 12 o'clock in the night he took a flight and reached Delhi, then he killed Zara there and then after at 03:30 in the morning, he left Zara's room and reached the airport again, and then at about 04:15 am he took a flight to Hyderabad and at about 07:30 am, he reached the hospital before everyone. Due to low traffic in the morning, he had reached everywhere at the time and he had committed this very clean crime."

Now the whole crime is has opened and then Mr Faiz asked Raghu that why he did so, Raghu said "few days before Zara's birthday Zara and I went to Hyderabad there in the night I saw she was chatting with someone and she was smiling, I asked her whom she was talking and then she said that she was doing a discussion in a group, and said she was coming and then after 30 minutes she came to the room and she slept. After that I took her phone, open it with her finger and I read all the chat she was actually chatting to Mr Faiz but she had lied to me."

Zara was pregnant and she was talking to Mr.faiz regarding her late periods. They were talking about the pregnancy test, and Mr Faiz was telling her that they would go for a test, and then Mr Faiz said that imagine how cute our kids would be, not black like Raghu, then they started laughing and all the chat went like this.

Next day Zara asked me for marriage as soon as possible, now tell me Keshav how can I accept someone else's baby, and after knowing everything how could I act like a duffer and marry her. She was cheating on me. So I was not left with any other option and I killed her. 

Now after listening to all this Mr. Faiz started speaking he said Zara was not pregnant and listening to this everyone went shocked and Raghu felt the guilt that due to a small misunderstanding he killed Zara.

"Zara come to me to tell me about her brother Sikander and she told me about the TEJ's hideout in Delhi and how they were planning a terrorist attack, now she asked my help and asked me to leave Sikander. I promised her and raided that place and we found arms and ammunition there. I left Sikander from my custody and then he gave me those gold biscuits and I thought to gift an expensive necklace with that money to Zara So we came closer and we all this happened but every time Zara used to tell me that now she is engaged with Raghu and also I have my family, but I told her that I can leave my wife for her but every time she used to refuse.

Now Raghu felt very guilty at himself and then at that moment the police arrived at the scene and they arrested Raghu.

All the credit of solving the case went to the inspector Rana and he took multiple promotions and Keshav and Saurav left the coaching centre where they were teaching and opened their own detective company with the help of police and got engaged with police to solve the cases.
